Standard Process: Committed to Health from Seed to Supplement
Standard Process is the supplement company that is used with Nutrition Response Testing (and with good reason). This company was started by Dr. Royal Lee over 75 years ago. Dr. Lee was a dentist and one of the pioneers in whole food nutrition. He stumbled onto this role as he discovered that tooth decay was related to nutritional deficiencies. He developed his first whole food multi-vitamin/mineral supplement called Catalyn (which still exists today) in the 1920s. Today, Standard Process has over 150 whole foods supplements available. What whole foods means is exactly that. The supplements are made from whole food sources. You would think that all supplements were made this way, but they are not. Most are what they call synthetic, which were made in a lab, and many of the other synergists or cofactors that make a food a food are left out. This is not the way nature intended food to be. Standard Process prides itself in being one of the few companies to make whole food supplements. What really impressed me the most is that the company has over a thousand acres of organic farmland right next to their manufacturing plants. What this means is that they pick the ingredients from their “garden” and put it directly into their supplements. They literally pick a crop when it’s ripe and on that same day put it into a supplement. Pretty cool, huh? And because there’s no middleman, they have complete control over quality.
I have used and recommended many brands of supplements and I find that Standard Process is a hands down winner. I feel the effectiveness comes from the whole foods philosophy and the fact they have their own organic farm land. My clients also report a significant difference. The most notable is with the digestive enzyme product, Multizyme. I’ve used many different brands since I have a history of digestive issues and this is by far the best I’ve tried. They also have a food bar that is high in protein. But the great thing is that the source of protein is not from soy protein isolate like most bars, but rather from whey, casein, and egg. The other ingredients are also from whole foods unlike other protein bars which have a lot of other crap and sugars. I currently have a couple thousand of dollars in inventory of Standard Process products in which I use with the Nutrition Response Testing. Standard Process products can only be obtained from licensed health care providers.
